Bank account and credit card information for your seller account

When you register as a seller, you must enter a credit card that will accept international charges and that has a valid billing address located in an eligible country. Your credit card will be billed the monthly fee (if applicable) or 1 Euro (excl. VAT) for purposes of validating the card.

You may be redirected to a financial institution to verify your card with a security question to verify your identity, before being redirected back to AlphaDiscounters. You may need to address a separate security question to verify that you are the card holder for each card that you provide to AlphaDiscounters, and for each market you would like to sell in.

Note: We may periodically run a validation check on your credit card.

Accepted credit cards

We accept the following credit cards:

  • MasterCard
  • Visa
  • American Express
  • JCB

Note: We do not accept alternative charge methods, such as prepaid credit cards, gift certificates, checks, or online payment systems like PayPal.

You cannot delete the credit card that you designated as your primary payment method, but you can add a new card or select a different card from the list of cards you have entered in your seller account. You can also designate another card as your primary payment method, in order to delete your former primary payment method.

If you have a positive settlement balance, AlphaDiscounters will deposit the money into your bank account. We cannot transfer funds to your credit card. We may charge this credit card if you have a negative settlement balance. Add, delete, and verify your credit card information:

Your financial institution may only allow your credit card to be used in certain countries. As a result, you may see the same credit card being honored by AlphaDiscounters in some of our stores, but not in others. When you register in AlphaDiscounters as a seller, it is necessary to enter an internationally chargeable credit card with a valid billing address located in an eligible country. Reach out to your financial institution to determine the countries your card is eligible to be used in.

Add a credit card

You can add a new credit card by following the steps below:

  • Go to Settings, and click Account Info.
  • From Payment Information, select Charge Methods.
  • If you already have an existing credit card linked with the account, click Replace Charge Method for the credit card which you would like to replace, and select the store where you would like to assign a new charge method. Click Replace.
  • If you are adding a new credit card for the first time, select an option to Add new charge method. Select the store for which you would like to add this new charge method and click Add. Enter the requested information exactly as it appears on your credit card statement.

Important: When you enter a new card or assign a previously added card to a store, AlphaDiscounters may ask your financial institution to authorize a charge for a small amount. AlphaDiscounters will not actually make the charge. We will complete the authorization process for all AlphaDiscounters stores where you are registered to sell. Depending on your financial institution, the authorization may or may not show up as a pending charge. The authorization should disappear from your credit card statement in 3-5 business days, subject to your financial institution’s policies.

Note: To prevent your card from being used by any unauthorized party on AlphaDiscounters, your financial institution may ask you to complete a security verification before authorizing your credit card. In this case, you may be asked to enter a unique security code before completing the verification. The code will be sent to you either via SMS, email, or token, depending on your financial institution. Alternatively, your financial institution may ask you to verify the transaction using finger-print or facial recognition technology, if you have this setup already.

Credit card verification process

Usually, it will take less than two minutes for us to verify your credit card. However, depending on your card issuer and network, it can take up to 48 hours for AlphaDiscounters to update your seller account with any new credit card information. Note that, in some instances, you may be redirected to your financial institution to verify your card with a security challenge before being redirected back to AlphaDiscounters. A separate security challenge may be surfaced to verify that you are the card holder for each card you provide to AlphaDiscouinters, and for each store you would like to sell in.

Note: If your credit card fails the verification, you will see a banner in your seller account informing that a valid credit card is needed in order for you to continue selling on AlphaDiscounters. You will also receive an email after the verification failure. If your credit card is listed as invalid, you will not be able to manage your listing, inventory, shipment, or receive disbursements from AlphaDiscounters.

If there is a problem with your security verification, you can retry your verification by following the prompts in your Charge methods, and ensure that:

  • The name entered and the name on your card matches. The financial institution will send a code only to the card’s owner.
  • You entered the correct code, as prompted. A common mistake is to enter the phone number from which the code is sent from, instead of the code.
  • Your personal information on Account Info is up-to-date.

Note: A verification failure can occur on a card that has worked in the past if the card is close to or has passed its expiration date, or additional changes or restrictions are applied to the card by its financial institution or the card owner. For example, you might have updated your billing address, or your bank decided to not honor the usage of your card on AlphaDiscounters. We recommend trying a different card or contacting your financial institution for assistance or visit your local branch, as they might be able to provide further details on the problem with your verification. Then try completing the process again.

Credit card listed as invalid

We verify your credit card based on the following requirements. Violating one or more of the requirements below will result in your card being denied by AlphaDiscounters.

  • The number you entered should match the number on your credit card.
  • The billing address you entered should match the billing address on your credit card statement.
  • The CVV code you entered should match the code on your credit card.
  • The card expiration date should be at least 6 months from when you add the card.
  • The card holder’s name you entered should match the card holder’s name on your credit card (in the Latin-script alphabet).
  • The card should not be a prepaid, virtual, or gift card.
  • The card should be chargeable in the currency of the AlphaDiscounters store(s) for which the card is being provided.
  • The card should have adequate credit limit to pay for the charge.
  • If you were asked to enter a unique security code by your financial institution, the code you entered should match the code sent to the card holder via SMS, email, or token.

If your card meets all the requirements above but is still listed as invalid, we recommend trying a different card or contacting your financial institution for assistance. Before that, check the list of accepted credit cards. If you have tried at least two different credit cards that meet all the requirements and yet all of them were denied, reach out to AlphaDiscounters Selling Partner Support for assistance.

Delete a credit card

If your credit card is not being used as the charge method in any of the AlphaDiscounters stores where you sell, you can delete the card following the steps below:

  • Go to Settings, and click Account Info.
  • From Payment Information, select Charge methods.
  • Click Manage charge method to view all the credit cards that you have added.
  • Click Delete to remove a credit card.

Note: If a card is currently associated with any of the AlphaDiscounters stores, it will show up as “Active” and cannot be deleted.

Bank account information

AlphaDiscounters uses electronic transfers to pay out your sales proceeds. Before you can receive payments, you have to enter bank account information into your seller account. We cannot transfer funds to a credit card or online payment system such as PayPal.

To avoid payment delays:

  • Your seller account must have a business address associated with it.
  • Your bank account must be located in a country supported by the AlphaDiscounters Currency Converter.
  • Your bank account information must be up to date.

Seller information displayed to buyers

The seller information you provide to AlphaDiscounters appears in the Seller Profile page and contains the following fields:

Display Name

The name displayed to customers for your AlphaDiscounters listings and on your Seller Profile.

Legal Entity

For companies, the name your business is registered under; for individual’s entities, your name.

Business Address

For companies, it’s the address your business is registered under; for individuals’ entities, it’s your operating address.

In addition to my business name and address, can I share more information to help customers?

Yes, you are welcome to add additional information about your business and products that you think would be helpful to customers. However, remember that you should not include an email address or phone number — to prevent spam and abuse, we require customers and sellers to use our Buyer-Seller Messaging System to communicate electronically.

What address will be displayed to customers?

On the Seller Profile page, we will display the business address (street address or P.O. Box). You can view or edit the business address.

How do I ensure my information is up to date?

You can change the seller information displayed to customers in your seller account at any time by completing the following steps:

  1. Log into your AlphaDiscounters seller account.
  2. On Seller Central, go to the Settings menu and select Account Info to view your Seller Account Information page.
  3. In the Business Information section, select the links for the information you want to view.
  4. To change your business name, select “Legal Entity” and to change the address select “Business Address”. Enter the new information or edit the current information.
  5. When you’re finished, select Submit.
